Va-ca-shun!

So I've been back for 2 weeks now, but I haven't blogged about my vacation yet! I'm sure most of you have seen the pics. I'm sure most of you thought, Las Vegas?? I thought you were going to California?

Well, it's a long story. I was supposed to accompany Ryan to San Jose about 20 mins outside of San Francisco. He was supposed to be on a work trip and I was tagging along and then we were going to take a couple extra days there to tour once he was done work. Late at night 3 days before we were supposed to leave, we found out the work trip had been postponed. It had already been postponed once, I had to keep on shuffling my vacation around. But the way I planned vacation in work timelines was that I needed to be here at the end of November. So I couldn't push the vacation back anymore.

We discussed and a stressful day later of planning, asking permission and setting up, we booked a last minute trip to Vegas. We booked it on Friday morning and flew out Monday morning.

Vegas was awesome. We did lots of site seeing, saw Cirque Du Soleil, I got to go Factory Outlet shopping, it was warm enough to hang by the pool and swim and tan, the hotel was pretty fancy, it was the MGM Grand. We were total gambling N00bs. We enjoyed playing Roulette but we were done at one table and took our Roulette Chips in our cash bucket and walked away. We had a couple drinks, played some slot machines, then decided to play our chips at another Roulette table. When we sat down, the 'dealer' noticed our chips. He told us that the casino was looking all night for them. Apparently, you're not supposed to take the Roulette chips off the table, you need to cash them in for Casino chips. It was apparetnly a big faux pas. Roulette chips are marked specially for each table and there's only a certain amount. We had no idea.

We did enjoy Bloody Mary's. Ryan likes them even better than Caesars. I can't figure out how to make them. They must have 'bar tomato' juice in the states. Our tomato juice certainly isn't the right consistency.

The wax museum was fantastic! Check out the photos, we had tons of fun there. Cirque Du Soleil was indescribable. So fantastic! We ate at alot of Buffets, they were reasonably priced. Ryan ate so many crab legs, he almost kept a waiter employed full time by removing the shells from our table! We had this one sushi buffet that was so amazing! So many different types of maki and nigiri sushi, plus they had Sashimi! They also had Udon Noodle bowls, tempura, all of your favorite japanese foods were there. I've never stuffed myself that full before.

Ryan discovered Tira Misu. Every buffet I was on the lookout for it. To a lesser extent he discovered Creme Brule but he went Tira Misu crazy.

I really enjoyed Sigfreid and Roy's secret garden. They had baby white tigers. The cubs would play with eachother and wash eachother. The trainer was in the pen and telling stories about the cubs and the other large cats that were there. It was so interesting. They also had huge white lions, panthers, cheetahs and llamas and dolphins. There was a baby dolphin too. He was cute.

Ryan pet a Manta Ray at the Shark Reef at Mandalay bay. I pet one too. We did so much I can't even begin to write it all. All in all it was a well deserved vacation, and I'd do it again.

I promised friends I'd devote a whole blog post with pictures to my shopping finds. I won't disappoint, just not today :) I have so much other stuff to post on this blog too, I'm so far behind. Too busy living and not writing! I'll hit a balance soon, I can feel it.
