Like the title says, finally I have some time to sit down and write. Hopefully before I've forgotten everything I've done.
Ball was cancelled yesterday and today, it's too rainy and cold here. I'm actually kinda glad it was cancelled. Yesterday I finally crammed everything into my store room from my spare room closet. It looks all pretty and organized now, and every time I go by the store room, I open the door and admire my organization. Everything I don't need or won't need for years, at the back, everything I use regularly at the front and if I do need something from the back, I made myself a path to get there and get it without too many problems. I make a contented sigh everytime I look in that store room.
May long was awesome. Did some chillaxing at the lake. I headed to the lake on Friday night with Darrell and Matt. We stopped in Kenaston to buy some road beer for the boys. I'm pretty sure they were both cut by the time we actually reached the lake. So we hung out Friday, played some games, Saturday they took apart my sega controllers and fixed them, I played some paperboy and mortal kombat (I love those games, shoulda taken out the baseball 2020, which rocks as well). Heather and Sarah and Dave showed up, we played some Settlers of Catan, and then the sun came out so we played lawn games. We have some old school lawn darts that impale things and we have bocce ball. We started making up our own rules to bocce, on how you would have to throw and obstacles which would disqualify your bocce, and it became extreme bocce ball. That night we ran out of booze and had to go into Ft. Qu'appelle to the offsale at The Squire. That was an adventure. Rumours that there were strippers in the bar turned out to be a couple of 19 year old girls bouncing in a blow up trampoline enclosure. And they weren't taking their clothes off. The boys looked disappointed. Sunday we played some catch, hiked a hill in the valley, got to go on the boat, all nice summer things. And then we played lots of board games.
Sheesh this is a long post. This is what happens when I don't blog for a while.
I saw the series finale of Gilmore Girls. It was sad and very disappointing. It felt rushed to tie up loose ends and the characters goodbyes were very textbook dry. I wish the original writer had written it, it didn't have closure or wit.
Hopefully going bike shopping tomorrow. I'd like a cruiser bike but we'll see what's out there and what fits me. I find my tastes keep on getting tackier and tackier as I get old, but I'm more comfortable as I get older too. Why else would I buy a pink baseball mitt? But I'll get what I want if it makes me happy and if other people think it's odd, I'm okay with that.
