I live in a world of tiny chickens

Yes I really did think the chicken wings that you ate on wednesdays for 10 cents a wing came from tiny chickens, two legs and 2 drumsticks. What I didn't know, was that it was all part of the same wing but chopped into 3 pieces. I never really thought about it much, just that those drumettes must have come from tiny chickens, and a plate of wings could potentially be 2 of those tiny chicken's appendages. I didn't want to think about how they must have genetically modified those chickens to be so small, like they did in 'Oryx and Crake'. Just how I prefer to think that most of my meat did not come from something living. Out of site, out of mind.

Yesterday was the last day of gymnastics, that's kinda sad. I did actually end up enjoying it. And there is a spring session but it's on Wednesdays again which is the same night as baseball. Maybe in the fall I'll go back and continue, I can do a pretty mean handstand at the moment.

The car show was in town this past weekend. I went with Darrell, it was fun. Although this year, they had many of the more expensive cars locked so you couldn't go in them. My favorite had to be the 2007 Dodge Charger, it was neon green, and huge and sporty, even if it is a 4 door car. I even liked it better than the mustang. It just felt like I should be on a racetrack of some sort as soon as I sat in it. Or at the drive in, or something like that. This is coming from the person who initially hated the look of the Charger, but I like it now. I did sit in a $100000 Mercedes, but that's just not for me. It felt very luxurious, but I'm not a sit in my car and listen to the opera while sipping an espresso type person ala Jean Girard.

This weekend is looking to be fun. Tomorrow I'm going to a comedy night for a rugby fundraiser. There's supposedly cocktails and a dance, that looks like fun. Plus I'll definitely be hitting the drive-in sometime this weekend. Yay movies! Also there's rumours of some baseball practicing, yay baseball! And it's nice enough to go running right by the river now on the dirt trails. So much easier on my feet and way more fun.

Next weekend I'm going hiking near Waskisieu, a 20 km hike and camping. I'm excited about this. It should be lots of fun. Till I need to go to the bathroom and realize that I forgot to pack toilet paper and need to rely on leaves....just kidding. So I need to aquire some camping gear this weekend, mainly a sleeping bag, a light sleeping bag at that, since I'm a wimp. Hooray for Canadian Tire shopping trip! I don't know why I like Canadian Tire so much, how did that happen?

It's because the Crappy Tire uses all sorts of "Remember the good old times" propaganda to make you happy about being Canadian and needing cheap Mastercraft hammers.... that are also clippers and crimpers all in one. Then when you try to drive a nail with them they vibrate your arm off.
But hey, who am I to complain? I bought the best baseball glove ever from Crappy Tire.
I love that place.
