Yes I really did think the chicken wings that you ate on wednesdays for 10 cents a wing came from tiny chickens, two legs and 2 drumsticks. What I didn't know, was that it was all part of the same wing but chopped into 3 pieces. I never really thought about it much, just that those drumettes must have come from tiny chickens, and a plate of wings could potentially be 2 of those tiny chicken's appendages. I didn't want to think about how they must have genetically modified those chickens to be so small, like they did in 'Oryx and Crake'. Just how I prefer to think that most of my meat did not come from something living. Out of site, out of mind.
Yesterday was the last day of gymnastics, that's kinda sad. I did actually end up enjoying it. And there is a spring session but it's on Wednesdays again which is the same night as baseball. Maybe in the fall I'll go back and continue, I can do a pretty mean handstand at the moment.
The car show was in town this past weekend. I went with Darrell, it was fun. Although this year, they had many of the more expensive cars locked so you couldn't go in them. My favorite had to be the 2007 Dodge Charger, it was neon green, and huge and sporty, even if it is a 4 door car. I even liked it better than the mustang. It just felt like I should be on a racetrack of some sort as soon as I sat in it. Or at the drive in, or something like that. This is coming from the person who initially hated the look of the Charger, but I like it now. I did sit in a $100000 Mercedes, but that's just not for me. It felt very luxurious, but I'm not a sit in my car and listen to the opera while sipping an espresso type person ala Jean Girard.
This weekend is looking to be fun. Tomorrow I'm going to a comedy night for a rugby fundraiser. There's supposedly cocktails and a dance, that looks like fun. Plus I'll definitely be hitting the drive-in sometime this weekend. Yay movies! Also there's rumours of some baseball practicing, yay baseball! And it's nice enough to go running right by the river now on the dirt trails. So much easier on my feet and way more fun.
Next weekend I'm going hiking near Waskisieu, a 20 km hike and camping. I'm excited about this. It should be lots of fun. Till I need to go to the bathroom and realize that I forgot to pack toilet paper and need to rely on leaves....just kidding. So I need to aquire some camping gear this weekend, mainly a sleeping bag, a light sleeping bag at that, since I'm a wimp. Hooray for Canadian Tire shopping trip! I don't know why I like Canadian Tire so much, how did that happen?

Springtime!
Yes it's that time for the weekend report. Lets kick it off on Friday. Friday was a georgeously warm day. Went out for Thai food at lunch and for a walk with Shannon at coffee time. Afterwork Darrell came over with some pretty "hey it's spring time" flowers for me and then we walked around the river to the arcade on the university campus and played and drank slurpees. It's amazing how many dreamcast games, that are arcade games, are still kicking around. We played Star Trek Voyager and phasered some Borgs, played Street Fighter, Twilight Zone pinball, and Ms. Pacman and Golden Tee. Saturday was also really nice out so we met up with Shannon, Blair, Matt and Courtney to play some catch in the park. I'm trying to break in my new mitt. So we caught some balls, played some catch, scaled some fences. Yup every park was still locked but that didn't stop us. We just hopped the fence, I have the bruises and scratches to prove it, since I scaled it in shorts. Shorts aren't the best idea for that but whatevs it was doable. I'm sore now. My back and shoulders are killing me, and my abs. I'm glad I decided to try to work out to be in shape though, I betcha I wouldn't be able to move if I hadn't. Saturday we went to Steve and Marnie's for their housewarming. It was a quieter party but I had a good visit with everyone. Sunday I took my sister and Ian for Dim Sum and then we all played some shuffle board and Scene It. We all went to the mall. I found some cream and sugar holders with cats on them, I'll have to go pick them up and got some ice cream. Ian bought some shoes. Then Darrell made me supper and I hung out at his place that evening.
All in all it was a full weekend. This week is looking to be nice all week again. So I'm going to make sure to go for a run everyday outside. Our 2nd last gymnastics class is this week. I'm actually sad to see that one end! I'm still not very good but I can do tonnes of things that I've never been able to do now. So it's pretty good when I just compare it to myself. I'd like to play some more catch too, I'll have to see who I can trick into doing that with me (sneaky eyeroll). Shannon brang up the idea of going to Karaokee on Friday. We haven't done that for a little while, I hope that pans out. Those nights are generally quite fun.
I think that's all for now. I'll keep ya posted as I go.

Internal Eternal Struggle
Since highschool I've always had an internal struggle going on. The struggle between my girlside and boyside traits. Highschool I was still a part of girlworld and I could function but a big part in the competition and active side was missing. Near the end of high school I started hanging out with the boys more where those needs were met, but the girl gossip, shopping and interactions were all lost. In university, most of my really close girlfriends had moved away, and I took computer science, so throughout I routinely had time where I didn't have any super close girlfriends and was immersed in guy culture, gross comedies, geekery, sports, gym etc. Not that I minded. When I got out of university I had almost forgotton about all the girly things that I do like to do and some of the girly traits that I have. I am quite girly, and have quite girly interests and reactions, and I know that, but I still like alot of the guy culture and have some logic behind not being too over emotional, it's a good mix. I do like to cook and bake and decorate, but I also like to do home projects, go to the gym, watch slapstick comedies and putz around on the computer programming and what not. It's been a while since I've had to balance both, and it was so hard when I first ended school to bring the 2 personalities together. I had finally been able to do both. Finally, I'm starting to feel like they're in balance with each other. Yes I like going for drinks with the guys, but I also like to come home and figure out which throw pillow matches what piece of furniture and where should I put it and I don't have to repress either side from either group. I have a good mix of friends that allow me to do this. I think the internal struggle is fading....

Friday!
Friday!
It's Friday! I like Fridays. And tomorrow it's supposed to be +21 here. I like +21, only +17 for Regina tomorrow. Take that Regina.
Here's my fun weekend to do list:
Go Hiking
Go Running
Use my expresso maker (yeah I actually bought coffee!)
Have a Slurpee
Walk around the river
Break in my new ball glove
BBQ some pork chops
Party like it's 1999 on Steve and Marnie's patio
Wear shorts
Wear a skirt without tights
Go on a fun date night
Hooray for summer! Yes I have a stressful life as you can see. Perhaps I should do some responsible grown up stuff in there. Maybe wash my car and sweep my place. My weekend is complete.

Happy Belated Easter
You guys all had such nice stories of me and my lushness I see from the last post. ha, ha, that's funny.
Easter was fun, I headed out to the lake, new boyfriend in tow. I told my family to be nice to him, and they made fun of me for it. So Darrell met my family and was very quiet but it went well. Then we left the lake to go to Regina so I could do the same for his family. Same result. I was very quiet but that's me, what can you do? So we ate lots of food, marshmallows and hotdogs on the campfire at the lake and ham and cabbage rolls at Darrell's mom's. It was kinda cold out so I couldn't do too much outdoorsy stuff. But it was a nice fun quiet weekend.
This week is looking to be interesting, some movies tonight and supper with Darrell. The casino on wednesday, no gymnastics this week. I really want to go for a run after work. I've been doing so much research and compiling today that my eyes are tired from staring so intently at this damned computer screen. I got to work really early this morning too. I don't know how I managed that, but it's way easier to get up now that the sun is up earlier than I am.
I had a breadmaker sitting in my storage room so I bought some ingredients so that I could finally use it, and there's no mixer in it! Everything else is there but the mixer or paddles. Guess I'll have to use my ingredients and make bread the old fashioned way, in a pan with manual labour, yuck!
Shannon and I decided to go to Canadian Tire at lunch today. I bought a new baseball mitt, my old one was too small. Guess what colour they make mitts in now? That's right purple! My new mitt is purple and pink. It's awesome and its name is Wilson, possibly I'll have to change the name to Wilson Phillips. Shannon found some super cheap work benches there, they are currently sitting in my car. They're heavy! So I'll have to go deliver them to her place after work. We weren't swapping cars, they're too heavy. I also found that superstore had my cappucino, expresso, coffee maker back in stock so I picked up one of those, that's a gift from my parents. I shoulda bought some coffe/cappucino/ and expresso for it when I was at the store, I didn't think that far ahead.

Interactive post!
Leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
Don't send a message, leave a comment on here. Next, re-post this in your notes and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty cool (and funny) to see the responses.

meatloaf
I sure do love meatloaf. Okay not the food, I should rephrase.....I sure do love Meat Loaf. I downloaded Bat Out of Hell III yesterday and I love it. Not as good as the older stuff mind you but still jumpingly dancing around good. And Rocky Horror Picture Show is just awesome. I love all the music from that. And the powerballads, who doesn't love a good powerballad, Meat sure does. And why aren't there more powerballads? Bon Jovi and Guns and Roses are the most recent ones I can remember. And that was over 10 years ago! Also, we need more transvestites from transylvania, but that will be another post......
