TV Blogs?

Blogging about tv. Why do people blog about tv, or tv shows? I assume if any of you were interested in a tv series, you would be watching it, instead of reading about it on a blog or reading my biased dumb opinion on a tv show.

When I worked at my second co-op job, there was a lady there and all she talked about was tv. Who backstabbed who on Survivor, Apprentice, Lost, you named it. She once asked my opinion, since I was quiet when these convos came up. I replied that I don't really watch tv. Sure I watch a couple shows here or there but I'm never that entralled in them that it takes a serious part in my life. (Sure I turn the phone off during Gilmore Girls, but they talk so fast!) Anyways she was dumbfounded by this answer. She asked me what I did, if I didn't watch tv. I replied, gym, visit friends, games, computer, if it's summer then it's anything outside......basically I just wanted to say that I have a life. Being a tv jockey doesn't seem like you're living a life to me. Also, even though I love Gilmore Girls, if I have something better to do on a tuesday, I will go out and do it. I'm not staying home because a new episode is on, I'm sure I'll see it later, the world will not end.

How did we become a tv obsessed society?

I used to watch about 2 hours of TV a day. Now I watch about an hour a week, not counting Internet video, which might make it close to 30 minutes a day.

I think blogs are moving more people away from the TV, and into the realm of communication, and creation of their own entertainment. I started the Teleban to help get people to think about their TV consumption.
