Wow, I've never seen anything like yesterday in my entire life. Yesterday morning, blizzard warnings were in full effect. But, we live in Saskatchewan, of course there's a blizzard warning, doesn't necessarily mean it will! But it did! The drive to work was alright, I could at least see 6 or 7 car lengths in front of my vehicle. But by noon, it was a total white out! The whole city of Saskatoon shut down, bus service, cabs, all businesses. I abandoned my car here at work and got a ride home with Shannon and Blair. Couldn't see anything on Circle Drive. I made it home safe and quite timely given the circumstances. From my condo I could see downtown in total gridlock, bumper to bumper for at least 3 hours, that was once some of the white out was letting up. When I first got home I couldn't see a foot in front of the window!
Today driving down the streets here is like driving in snow tunnels, plus you need to dodge cars that were piled under the snow that haven't been moved. Just unreal! To top it all off, yesterday while we were awaiting announcements of what was going on with work and the weather, there was news that a car in our parking lot was on fire. So there was drama there, I was sitting here waiting for my license plate to be called as one of the vehicles that was damaged. But luckily, for once, I escaped, 3 cars were damaged in the fire. My car was parked across the far aisle from the fire, but is fine. Phew!
Shannon gave me a ride back to work this morning, my car looks fine in the parking lot, just a little snowy. I need to go out later and plug it in. No one is really at work this morning. But it seems things are getting back to normal. I will never forget this snow day.
So I had a nice afternoon off, my Christmas tree finally got put away, closets organised and measured. All I have left is to tackle my storage room and decide on materials I want for my closet organiser.
