The Holidays

And I'm back at work with nothing to do until the meeting this afternoon. Sounds like a good time to write a holiday summary.

I took the week off between new year's and Christmas and went back to Regina. Hung out a little with my buddy Dave, I woulda liked to see more of him but it was Christmas. There were board games at Heather's, where we learned that even though we grew up in the 90's we didn't really watch the news and therefore couldn't answer too many questions in 90s Trivial Pursuit. There was the friends Christmas party where I caught up with everyone, had a nice visit with Brett and Alnaar. I'm so excited for their wedding next year.

My family adopted a new member. His name is Pumpkin. He's another Orange tabby, but big and fat with tuxedo white pattern and paws. He's afraid of everything but he's getting better. Christmas morning I woke up to a paw in the face, felt more like home then.

Christmas Day I got a food processor, and guitar hero 2 as well as some other things. So far I've food processed everything I can get ahold of (I was chopping stuff like a sucker all this time!), and thouroughly wrecked my wrists playing Guitar Hero. So much fun, so addictive.

Spent alot of time with Phil. I quite enjoyed that. He spent boxing day at the lake with my family. It was nice.

Had a day at the spa with my family and uncle , I also brought Heather along. We had a nice relaxing time in the hot tub and a nice dinner at the restaurant.

Had some family time, although they complained they didn't see me enough. Got a day at the lake and had a nice visit at the acerage with my Aunt and Uncle. My uncle tried to give me a cat and I'm sure if I had left the car door open longer he would of put 2 in my car.

I spent New Year's in Saskatoon. I help a potluck at my place. We had a really good spread. Then some people went to the Pat. I went to Paul's and played some Settlers of Catan and drank myself silly, I recall being too attached to my resources in the game. The New Year came, with good drinks, games and friends and holiday crackers. Rang in the new year right.

Now you're all caught up. The holiday was fun and much needed. I enjoyed it thouroughly. So many friends, family, food and drinks.

Guess I should make some sort of resolution, that's what these first posts of the years are all about. I prefer to call them goals though. Here are my new year's goals:

  • Strengthen my arms and wrists and shoulders at the gym for baseball season. That means I need to do weights, yuck.

  • Find some other fitness class to take part in until Baseball season, either gymnastics or something else.

  • Go Snowboarding at least 3 more times before winter ends.

  • Build my closet organizer, tentatively scheduled for next weekend.

  • Take some sort of real vacation where I go somewhere that's not Regina, Edmonton or Calgary or Vancouver.
