pressure is on!

Another day, another work week. I'm working on getting my CCNA this week at work. It's the Cisco Certified Networking Associate certification. It's tough to get. I've been working on it for a while now and still nothing. There's some business behind it too. You need to take all these training coursed at 1500 a pop and then it costs you 125 to write the exam. So naturally they want you to take the exam a couple of times. It's a good certification to have though. It's well respected and companies take them seriously along with a University degree, it's quite powerful.

The reason the pressure is on is that there is a job in Saskatoon that requires it. It would be the same thing I'm doing but a little more challenging, and I'd be in Saskatoon. I need to get this certification by next week to apply. I think it's a good thing though because now I will buckle down and study my little butt off. It's a little bit boring to study at work though. I have so much more interesting and fun work I could be doing.

I've been craving Alfredo's all day, I think I'll go there for lunch tomorrow. I've been sooooo hungry lately it's not even funny! And no I'm not pregnant. I just go through bouts where I'm super hungry and then the next week I'm just not hungry at all. It's weird.

Not too much going on here. I spent the weekend in Saskatoon. It was okay. Saw a really good hockey game on Sat night. Blades against the Warriors. Man, if you wanted a non stop action game, this was it, we had pretty good seats too. I found some nice boots at the Shoe Warehouse for $45. Yay, I can wear skirts in the winter again now but sadly I left the boots in Saskatoon. Hopefully they will come back to me on Friday ;)

Other than that life will be pretty quiet here this week. I've never been happier for a quiet week. I was going psycho last week. I feel much calmer this one, and less stressed. I'm very excited about the prospect of moving to Saskatoon. Finally, I can buy a house and adopt a dog, if I move, if I get the job. It'll be so much fun.

You girls are probably demanding, enough with life planning, let's hear about the wedding planning. Well we do have some planned already. I chose my bridesmaids, Barbara is going to be the maid of honour and Heather and my sister will be bridesmaids. I've started going through magazines to figure out what kind of dress I want. There are so many beautiful dresses that it will be hard. But they are fun to go through with family and friends. Other than that, we are set for a while. Still have a year and half to go. Dan has narrowed down a list of his attendants but he's still trying to figure out the order. I won't ruin it here for him.

I guess that's that. Sorry, no rant this time!

the day the universe stood still

Another calm Friday at work. I don't mind too much. I can clear my head and get my next week planned as well as do some studying. I'm heading Saskatoon right after. I think I'll feel a little better when I'm there, but this is the best I've felt all week. I've been able to get some sleep the past couple of nights, finally, and was able to rest a little after work. I wish I could say the same for my coffee buddy James. I'm half expecting to go over to his cubicle and see the aftermath of him exploding. An ear on the filing cabinet, a toe in the recycle bin. Kinda like that Monty Python where the fat guy at the restaurant eats the wafer thin slice of ham and explodes.

My spoiler got put on my car! It looks really good. I'll put some pics up of it here. I think that will be the extent of my car modifications.

And now, since I have nothing to say, I'll post a conversation I had with Dave. Although Dave has already read this conversation, it will not help him combat his boredom problem.

Candice:hmmm, think you have some problems if the laws of physics keep on calling you. Especially gravity, I hear he's downright revengeful.

Candice:he's pretty mean when he's drunk. Kind surly and unpredictable

Need sleep. So tired! I can't believe this week already and it's only wednesday. I've been running around work here, running around all last week. It feels like I haven't rested in weeks. Work has been piling up and piling up. I go home and study for my certification. I need a vacation or at least a weekend where I can just lie on the couch and go out for meals. I go to sleep and I can't sleep, I'm too restless. The cat won't even sit on my bed at night anymore because I'm tossing and turning. There are literally a million things going through my head at any one moment. Wedding, job, new job, saskatoon happenings......the list doesn't end, and it's not letting me sleep.

Also there's tons of leisurely stuff for me to do as well which doesn't help, because anyone who knows me knows I would rather be doing anything than doing nothing. James lent me Toe Jam and Earl III for Xbox and I still haven't played it. My web server is up and running properly, so there's lots of exciting stuff for me to develop for that. I still have the Season 4 of Gilmore Girls on DVD, which I've barely made a dent in.

I've been really cranky too, if you couldn't tell by my last blog entry and MSN names. I just need 1 day where I have no obligations, nothing to do, so my mind can settle and rest, is that too much to ask?

how do you find your way to work every day?

People are annoying me today. It's not even funny. Yeah I'm a little edgy after my last week but some people are just dumb. Here's my conversation with Saturn today:
Me: Hi, it's Candice phoning, you left a message saying my spoiler is ready and I need to book an appointment to put it on.
Saturn: Well I'll look that up for you and phone you back to book an appointment.
(Two Hours Later)
Saturn: Hi, we can't find your spoiler, they said they didn't do the colour match last time.
Me: I had it done a week ago and you phoned to say it was painted and ready and it had to be put on.
Saturn: I'll check into that and give you a call later.
(Two More Hours Later)
Saturn: Okay we have your spoiler here and it's painted. You can come in any time this week, when do you want to come in?
Me: Tomorrow would work great for me!
Saturn: Oh, we can't do tomorrow, we have too many people booked.
Me: Well how about the day after?
Saturn: No we can't do that either.
Me: Well any day this week isn't any day this week now is it? How about Thursday?
Saturn: Thursday is good.

Man, How does this person find their way to work every morning? This is just the tip of the iceberg for stupid Saturn problems. I don't know how that dealership just doesn't fall into the great abyss.

Then this stupid computer problem at work here is just insane. Of course they came on a Friday to install it. The friday I already told them 4 times that I wouldn't be there. Why would you book an install on a friday anyways? There's only a 50-50 chance that the person is going to be here. I was close to losing it on them too! I know I'm a little overtired and stressed but that doesn't make up for sheer stupidity.

ho hum

It's Friday today. Normally I love Fridays. I live for Friday night, but today just seems like Friday. I've got a little bit of headache this morning. I hope I'm not getting sick. My sister has been deathly ill all week, if she makes me sick I'm going to be pissed.

My Saskatoon trip got cancelled for the weekend. My jerky friend took the jerk trip in his own jerky car without me. (You told me to blog my anger, so here it is!) But there's chance of a blizzard on Sunday so maybe it's a good thing. So what the heck am I going to do with myself? I can get a haircut, but that doesn't take a whole weekend. My appt on wednesday was cancelled. So far that's all I got. Okay well it's not quite that pathetic. I could go to the lake and go skating, Heather wanted to go to the broken rack because apparently they have good food there, rumours of plans for tonight with some guys I haven't seen for a while. I'll be fine, I'm just overdramatic.

I can work on my new picture site too, I've fixed some stuff and my Dad has fixed some stuff on my server. It seems to work okay now. I still want to move it to a faster computer though. The P I is just not fast enough for Mandriva 10. Well I never use the graphical interface but moving files from computer to computer is super slow and I can hear the poor server in it's misery as it's trying to process those files.

So in reality, I have lots of stuff to do and people to see. It's just not what I was planning. Maybe if there's fishbowls at BPs and I'm car-less that would fix friday. Yeah, that sounds like a good plan.

My car is at Saturn today getting matched for the new spoiler, hopefully they will wash it for me so I can take before and after photos. I'm excited. The spoiler will get painted and put on sometime next week. Now I will have to find some snazzy sunglasses to wear so I look cool in my cool car. Yeah I'm a geek.

I went to the gym last night with Phil. I didn't realise how much I missed going to the gym! I feel a little sore today but I'm not tired, have lots of energy, all that good stuff when you start working out again. I like it! I'm still worried that the Court Club is a little far to go to the gym. If that's the price to pay to not be lonely at the gym I will take it. I'll go with Heather a couple times to her gym. It's a little closer. Then I will make the choice. If either of you are reading this I take bribes! Just kidding. I'll figure it out on my own.

baaa da buh ba da daaaa da

Wow, I'm so busy but I'm not. It's crazy. Work has slowed down alot for me since I might be moving to 1 of 2 different positions soon so no one wants to give me work. Plus I forgot to charge my iPod last night. It's still going but it's on the last power bar! Work keeps on trying to take away my Windows desktop computer and put in a new one but they don't want to put the software that I use on it, so I can't do my job on the new computer. It's the most ridiculous process I've ever seen. But I expect that now from here.

I've been doing a lot of wedding planning and research lately. Some of it is lots of fun. Some is not. I'm going to have to start e-mailing Sarah so we can plan Heather's parties for her wedding. I still think it's a little early for that. Knowing our friends, it won't matter if we set a date now or 3 mos from now, no one will know what they are doing anyways ;)

I can't take the girly articles in the wedding magazines. Oh my god, if I see another stupid article written in girly slang I'm going to scream. "I want a different wedding ring than my husband, but how can I do that when they are supposed to match!" or "20 Benefits of being Married: #1 you always have a date friday night" ....arrrrrrrrghhhhhhh! How hoakey! Just give me a spreadsheet and some charts and maybe some financial information and one of the benefits of being married should be "sharing health benefits" and cost saving economic chart. Then I would read them! Well the magazines have pretty dresses anyways, I can always look at pictures. I know I'm not a really girly girl, but this might be the ultimate test.

I got my Katamari game in the mail yesterday, it is lots of fun and addictive. Even after I was done playing the game some of the rolling visuals stayed with me. If you've played it you know. Too much fun.

I'm trying to figure out if I'm going to S'toon this weekend or not. I think I will. James is going friday after work anyways and company is sooo nice to have on the road!

I still don't have the gym thing figured out. I should at least set aside some time maybe once or twice a week for swimming. I enjoy that, I'll have to work out on the weights later.

I'm putting my huge stylin spoiler on my car. It'll look pimpin'. I'm excited about that. Thank you RRSP money I didn't know I got and would have rather put into the RRSP.

I'm finally getting a haircut tomorrow. Exciting! It really is, I've needed one since end of november but it was crazy then with school, engagement, work. I'm all excited now.

3....2.....1....

New years was a blast. We had lots of fun at a potluck dinner and a night of dancing. There were also adventures on the bus. The bus was free until 3am so why not? I ate so much and drank so much. Unfortunately there are no pictures, I didn't want to take my camera on this escapade in case it got broken.

I've been trying to figure out exactly what religion I am. Dan and I want to know so we can figure out the marriage thing. I told Dan I didn't want to be part of a religion that disrespects other religions, women, gay people and other minorities. I guess that doesn't really leave me with any religion.

I went to the mall and picked up some t-shirts. I swear I'm starting to read things the way that I want to read them. For example, I swear I saw a sign that said t-shirts $14.50 or $10 each when you buy 2. But this sign was no where in sight when I went to the till. I must have imagined it or read a different sign to what I wanted it to say. Oh well I got my shirts. Then I swore I saw a 16 month calendar, but no it was only a 12 month. I'm going insane and reading what I want to read.

I'm going to a funeral on thursday. It's not going to be fun. My cousin finally passed away from lung cancer. She was suffering in the end. I'm going to be a pallbearer again. I did it for my Opa's funeral too. I think she would have liked that.

On a lighter note, I think my Katamari game came in the mail today. I'm excited. It'll be a fun game. I finally got my DVD burner installed too. I'm excited to see if the DVD I burned last night actually worked. It was too late to see by the time I figured out how to do it.
